The Editor-in-Chief of the Torkwase Journal of Agricultural Research, Gever Esther Rita, Publishes in Top-Tier Scopus and Web of Science-Indexed Journal.
The Editorial Board of the Torkwase Journal of Agricultural Research (TOJAR) is pleased to celebrate a major academic achievement by our Editor-in-Chief, Gever Esther Rita. Her Master's research, titled "Bio-insecticidal efficacy of Moringa oleifera and Azadirachta indica leaf powders against the cowpea weevil, Callosobruchus maculatus," has been published by Elsevier in the journal, Food and Humanity (Volume 6, 2026).
Bridging the Gap Between Research and Practice: The study addresses a critical challenge in global food security by providing a plant-based pesticidal solution for protecting stored legumes without the use of harmful synthetic chemicals. By demonstrating that botanical powders like Moringa and Neem are statistically as effective as synthetic pesticides in suppressing egg-laying and grain damage, Mrs Gever has provided a sustainable, cost-effective solution for farmers across the tropics.
Leadership by Example: By subjecting her work to the rigorous peer-review standards of a journal indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, Mrs Gever demonstrates the exact level of scientific integrity and excellence that she demands for TOJAR. As she continues her doctoral studies at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, this publication serves as a testament to the world-class editorial perspective she brings to our journal. We invite our authors and readers to join us in celebrating this contribution to agricultural science.
