The Regular issue (Volume 3, Issue 1) of the Torkwase Journal of Agricultural Research presents a multi-disciplinary exploration of the modern challenges facing sub-Saharan agriculture. This issue explores sustainable livestock nutrition, crop protection, and climate-smart economics. By validating indigenous practices and analyzing market-oriented innovations, these articles provide a scientific roadmap for securing the African agri-food value chain through environmental stewardship and enhanced food safety. The articles represent a broad agricultural reach, authored by 35 researchers from 15 distinct Nigerian academic institutions. To ensure adherence to the highest standards, every manuscript underwent a mandatory, double-blind peer review with input from external experts.

The issue contains 10 articles. The journal’s editorial policy prioritises quality over volume. Despite publishing just 20 articles in three volumes and three issues from 2024 to 2026, our content has achieved a strong early citation impact, validated by over 30 citations in Scopus and over 25 in Web of Science. This global reach, extending to authors in countries including the United States of America, Austria, Germany, Japan, Ghana, China, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, and Australia, establishes us as the definitive, high-impact regional voice. In an era defined by economic fluctuations, climate instability, and evolving phytosanitary risks, this collection of research highlights the resilience of smallholder systems and the innovative pathways available for sustainable growth.
